Cala Pudent

Cala Pudent is a sandy beach in Es Mercadal that stretches about 200 meters long and 50 meters wide, set against natural limestone cliffs. The protected cove shape creates shallow water near the shore and deeper water further out.

Ancient coastal paths that fishermen from the area used for centuries to reach their fishing grounds still run through this region. These routes connect the beach to nearby settlements and remain visible to visitors walking along the shore.

Fishing boats and gear scattered along the shore show how this place remains connected to the sea and to traditional ways of making a living. Locals and visitors alike recognize this as a working beach where maritime practices continue.

Reaching this beach requires a walk of about 25 minutes along a coastal path from nearby Arenal de Son Saura. Wear sturdy shoes for the path and check weather conditions before heading out, as the coastal route can be exposed to wind.

The seabed is covered with extensive underwater seagrass meadows that keep the water clear and support many fish populations. This underwater plant is rarely found so close to shore at other beaches and plays a key role in the health of the marine environment.
