Oratorio de San Felipe Neri
Oratorio de San Felipe Neri, Baroque oratory in Alcalá de Henares, Spain
The Oratorio de San Felipe Neri features brick construction with a late Baroque style facade and an elliptical dome above the altar.
Founded in 1694 by Martín de Bonilla y Echevarría, the oratory survived French troops' plundering in 1811 and remained the only male convent in the city.
The oratory houses a museum containing over 8,000 volumes, including two incunabula, ivory collections, and liturgical objects established by Father Juan José de Lecanda.
Located at Plaza Padre Lecanda 4 in Alcalá de Henares, the oratory maintains regular religious services and youth gatherings organized by the local diocese.
Miguel de Unamuno conducted his spiritual retreat at this convent between 1888 and 1889, during which he wrote his article 'En Alcalá de Henares'.
