Parc de la station balnéaire maritime

Merikylpylänpuisto park sits along Hevosenkenkälahti bay and spans roughly 1.7 hectares with landscaped areas and recreational spaces. The grounds include green zones, ball game courts, a skateboard area, and a pedestrian bridge that links different sections across a main street.

A wooden summer restaurant called Lauttasaaren Kasino once stood here, built in 1913 by businessman Julius Tallberg before it burned down in 1947. The fire marked a turning point that eventually led to the creation of this public recreational space.

The park functions as a meeting place where locals gather for shared activities and recreation throughout the year. You will see families, groups, and individuals using the spaces for sports, walks, and social time by the waterfront.

The park is equipped with exercise stations, game courts, and sports amenities for different types of activity. When planning a visit, consider the tides and weather conditions along the bay, as these affect the beach and water areas.

The sandy shore hosts small populations of sea kale, a rare plant whose presence here represents some of the easternmost specimens in the Gulf of Finland. These plants thrive in the saltwater and rocky-sandy shoreline that make this bay ecologically distinctive.
