Hexagone Balard is a large administrative complex in Paris's 15th arrondissement that brings together military personnel under one roof. Its white ceramic and glass facades define the streetscape, while offices and workspaces surround landscaped courtyards inside.
This project emerged after 2010 when military commands spread across Paris were consolidated into one location. A private consortium designed and operates the building to modern standards for security and operational needs.
The structure carries the identity of three military branches through its architecture: three symbolic chimneys represent the army, navy, and air force. This visual language shapes how the building communicates its institutional purpose to visitors and passersby.
The site includes facilities like a health center and office areas, with some walkways available to authorized visitors. Access is restricted due to security requirements, so visitors should check in advance about permissions.
This building was constructed with reinforced structural design reflected in its faceted exterior shape. Mapping services deliberately show only the roof outline to protect the internal layout from public view.
