Gare de Passy-la-Muette, Former railway station in 16th district, France
The Gare de Passy-la-Muette is a former railway station in the 16th district located at the intersection of Chaussée de la Muette and Boulevard de Beauséjour. The brick building contains a single story with an upper floor and two platforms that once served passengers traveling on the line.
The station opened in 1854 as part of the Pont de Cardinet-Auteuil line connected to Saint-Lazare station. Passenger service ended in 1934 while freight operations continued until 1985.
The building reflects a period when railways connected affluent Paris neighborhoods. Today visitors experience the space as a restaurant while traces of its railway past remain visible in the architecture and structure.
The former station now houses Casa Luisa restaurant and sits close to La Muette metro station on Line 9. Visitors can access the historic building through the restaurant entrance and explore its spaces while dining or visiting.
In October 1896, a temporary reception building called Gare du Ranelagh was constructed specifically for Russian Tsar Nicholas II's visit. This separate facility was used instead of the main building for security reasons.
