Mont Sant'Eliseo, Mountain summit in Soccia, France.
Mont Sant'Eliseo is a mountain summit reaching 1,511 meters (4,957 feet) near Lake Creno in the Soccia area. A chapel built at the peak serves as a focal point on the landscape, surrounded by pine forests.
The mountain traditionally served as a link between Soccia and Orto villages and formed part of ancient pastoral routes used by shepherds. A chapel was later built to mark the religious significance of the location.
The chapel at the summit is maintained by local people and reflects the regional devotion to Saint Eliseo. Visitors who reach the top participate in a tradition that shapes the spiritual life of the area.
The hike starts from Soccia village along marked trails through pine forests, with a water source available after reaching a midway cross. Sturdy footwear is recommended because parts of the path are steep and uneven.
The mountain can be reached from two different starting points: directly from Soccia village or via a longer route passing by Lake Creno that starts from Orto village. Each path offers different landscape views and walking experiences.
