Restonica Valley, Valley and tourist attraction in Corsica, France
The Restonica Valley extends through granite cliffs and features clear water streams, leading to the mountain lakes of Melo and Capitello.
The valley has served as a crucial passageway for shepherds since ancient times, allowing them to move their herds between seasonal grazing grounds.
Throughout the Restonica Valley, traditional stone shepherds' huts called bergeries display the architectural methods passed down through Corsican generations.
Visitors can reach the valley via the D623 road from Corte, with designated parking areas and numerous spots for swimming and picnicking.
The valley contains a network of chains and metal ladders fixed into rocks, enabling hikers to safely navigate steep sections near Lake Melo.
