Nagy-Hideg-hegy, Summit in Börzsöny Mountains, Hungary.

Nagy-Hideg-hegy rises to 864 meters within the Duna-Ipoly National Park, making it the third highest elevation in the Börzsöny mountain range.

The mountain hut's foundation stone was placed in 1936 by Budapest mayor Károly Szendy, with initial accommodations opening to winter sports enthusiasts by 1940.

The summit became a central point for Hungarian outdoor recreation when the country's first ski lift opened there in 1953, transforming winter sports practices.

The location offers two kilometers of ski slopes and maintained trails, connecting to nearby areas including Nagybörzsöny, Diósjenő, and Kemence throughout the year.

The mountain hut expanded to accommodate 60 beds with central heating and running water, while its dining area serves up to 200 visitors simultaneously.
