The Castle of Salgó stands on a 715-meter peak named Börzsöny Várbérc, with remaining stone walls indicating its defensive position.
Built in the 13th century by the Hontpázmány family following the Tartar invasion, the castle was destroyed in 1424 under King Sigismund's orders.
The castle represents medieval Hungarian military architecture and serves as a reminder of the region's feudal system during the Middle Ages.
