Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Former military hospital and retirement home in Kilmainham, Ireland
The Royal Hospital Kilmainham features stone cut cloisters, a historic clock tower, and balconies surrounding a cobblestone courtyard in Dublin.
William Robinson designed and constructed this military retirement facility between 1679 and 1687 on a section of Phoenix Park.
The building now houses the Irish Museum of Modern Art, presenting contemporary artworks and hosting numerous exhibitions throughout the year.
The Meadows section of the complex accommodates large music festivals and corporate events within its extensive grounds in central Dublin.
The Richmond Tower, designed by Francis Johnston, was relocated from its original position near the River Liffey due to railway traffic.
