Hadar HaKarmel, Administrative district on Mount Carmel slopes in Haifa, Israel
Located between the upper and lower city of Haifa, Hadar HaKarmel district extends over the northern slope with views of the port and bay.
The district developed before World War I under Shmuel Pevzner's leadership from 1922 to 1927, becoming home to most of Haifa's Jewish residents by 1944.
German-Jewish architects who fled Nazi persecution designed numerous Bauhaus buildings throughout the district, creating a distinct architectural identity.
The Carmelit subway system connects Hadar HaKarmel to downtown Haifa through three stations, providing transportation for residents and visitors.
The former Technion building in Hadar HaKarmel now houses the Israel National Museum of Science, Technology, and Space, preserving educational heritage.
