Kiryat Chaim

Kiryat Haim stretches along the Mediterranean coast with apartment buildings and single-family homes divided into eastern and western sections. The residential areas are characterized by a mix of different architectural styles and building patterns.

The neighborhood was founded in 1933 as part of the Krayot development and built on land acquired through the Sursock Purchase from a Lebanese family. This marked the beginning of a planned residential expansion along Haifa's coast.

The neighborhood is home to people from many different backgrounds, including communities from North Africa, Ethiopia, and the former Soviet Union, whose presence shapes everyday life.

The Kiryat Haim Railway Station connects residents to the coastal railway line, while three bus lines provide transportation throughout the metropolitan area. Most locations are easily reachable on foot or by public transit.

The Thomas D'Alesandro Stadium serves as a central sports facility for football matches of local teams played over many years. The venue has been a gathering spot for sports fans and neighborhood events for decades.
