HaMakhtesh Stadium, Football stadium in Givatayim, Israel
HaMakhtesh Stadium is a football stadium in Givatayim designed to hold 5,500 spectators across three separate stands. The eastern stand positioned behind one goal accommodates the majority of capacity with roughly 3,000 seats.
The site was purchased by Givatayim founders in 1927 with initial plans for a botanical garden. It was repurposed for public gatherings before eventually becoming a football venue.
The stadium served as the home ground for Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim football club and Hapoel Givatayim team from the 1940s through the late 1970s.
The facility underwent major renovation work between 2007 and 2008 that included new grass turf and modern irrigation systems. These improvements significantly enhanced the quality of playing conditions on the pitch.
The stadium site was transformed in 2011 into a residential development featuring two high-rise towers of 26 and 17 floors. The project integrated 165 apartments while preserving a public park space for the community.
