Gurdwara Baba Atal is an octagonal temple with nine stories and a golden dome located near Harmandir Sahib. The structure has four entrance doors positioned according to the cardinal directions.
The temple was built between 1778 and 1784 to honor Baba Atal Rai, son of the sixth Sikh Guru Hargobind. This shrine marks an important addition to the pilgrimage center during the 18th century.
The interior walls showcase painted scenes from Sikh history and the life of Guru Nanak that visitors encounter as they move through the building. These artworks help explain important moments in the faith's tradition.
