Shri Shri Hari Baladev Jew Bije, Baripada

This temple is constructed from laterite stone with detailed carvings across its walls, rising to about 84 feet tall. The structure sits within a large walled compound that encloses the inner courtyards and shrine areas.

A Maharaja founded this temple in 1575, establishing it as the second most important shrine after the Jagannath temple in Puri. The construction marked a key moment in the region's religious development at that time.

The annual Rath Yatra procession brings crowds into the streets, where women traditionally pull the chariot carrying the deity Subhadra. This celebration shows how local worshippers maintain their spiritual customs together throughout the year.

The temple opens regularly for worship, with special security measures in place during festivals when large crowds arrive from nearby areas. It is best visited during quieter periods outside the major festival times.

The temple houses statues of deities from multiple faiths alongside the main idols, showing how different beliefs come together in this space. This diversity reflects the spirit of tolerance that defines the place.
