Nawadih block, Community development block in Bokaro district, India
Nawadih block is a community development block located in Bokaro district in northeastern India, spanning approximately 308 square kilometers at an elevation of around 216 meters. The territory encompasses 155 villages organized across 32 panchayats, situated within the Bermo subdivision.
The block was established as an administrative unit following Bihar's reorganization in 2000, when Jharkhand emerged as a separate state. This restructuring created a new administrative framework for managing local governance in the region.
The local population speaks Hindi, Urdu, and Santali, reflecting the linguistic diversity of this region. This multilingual environment shapes daily interactions and the character of community life here.
About 50 of the 155 villages have electrical power supply and access to basic healthcare facilities. Visitors should expect limited infrastructure in many areas and plan accordingly for simpler conditions.
Agriculture dominates the economy here, employing more than half of the working population in farming and related activities. This economic focus shapes the seasonal rhythms and social patterns of life in the region.
