Ram Jhula Bridge, Suspension bridge in Rishikesh, India

The iron suspension bridge stretches 230 meters across the Ganges River, connecting the areas of Muni Ki Reti and Swargashram in Rishikesh.

Built in 1986, the Ram Jhula Bridge follows the design principles of British colonial engineering while standing 2 kilometers downstream from Lakshman Jhula.

The bridge links multiple religious centers along the Ganges, including Sivananda Ashram, Parmarth Niketan, Gita Bhawan, and numerous temples in Swargashram.

Pedestrians and motorcycles can cross the bridge, while larger vehicles must take a 12-kilometer detour via the Badrinath Road-Neelkanth Bridge route.

Small markets line both ends of the structure, offering visitors direct access to local shops while monkeys regularly interact with people crossing.
