Dakpathar Barrage, Hydroelectric barrage in Dehradun district, India.

The Dakpathar Barrage extends 516.5 meters across the Yamuna River, featuring 25 floodgates that regulate water flow into the East Yamuna Canal.

Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru initiated the construction by laying the foundation stone in 1949, and the barrage commenced operations in 1965.

The barrage area forms part of a protected wetland that attracts numerous migratory birds from Eurasia during specific seasons.

Water from the barrage flows through the canal to power the Dhakrani Plant with 33.75 MW capacity and the Dhalipur Plant generating 51 MW.

The barrage creates a reservoir at 790 meters above sea level, channeling 199 cubic meters of water per second through its hydroelectric system.
