The Chennakeshava Temple features a 16-pointed star design with two eaves and multiple friezes depicting birds, animals, and Hindu mythology scenes.
The temple was constructed around 1250 CE during the reign of Hoysala Empire King Vira Someshwara and remains under Archaeological Survey of India protection.
The temple walls display detailed reliefs of Hindu deities and their attendants, while the central sanctum contains a large pedestal with Keshava imagery.
Located 60 kilometers from Hassan city, the temple maintains its structural integrity despite missing its traditional kalasa water-pot from the tower top.
The temple exhibits an ekakuta plan with a single shrine raised on a jagati platform, incorporating miniature towers between its characteristic dual eaves.
