Ackerlspitze, Mountain summit in Tyrol, Austria.
Ackerlspitze is a mountain summit in eastern Tyrol reaching 2329 meters and belongs to the Kaiser range. The peak features steep rock faces and forms part of an impressive massif in the region.
The first recorded mountaineering ascent took place on October 1, 1826 when Karl Thurwieser and J. Carl reached the top with guide Stephan Unterrainer. Since then, the peak has drawn climbers from across Central Europe.
This peak is a distinctive feature of the Kaiser range, an area that draws climbers and hikers from surrounding regions. The steep rock formations and high altitude have shaped how local mountaineers relate to this landscape.
The climb requires technical rock climbing skills and proper equipment, with the route covering about 13 kilometers. The path starts from Tannbichl in Going and follows forest trail 826 toward the mountain hut before reaching the summit.
From the summit on clear days, climbers can see Chiemsee lake in Bavaria and the Großvenediger peak far away. A remnant icefield also persists in the Niedersessel cirque area until mid-July.
