Treffauer

Treffauer is a mountain peak in the Stubai Alps with steep rocky faces and broad alpine meadows. The summit is surrounded by dense coniferous forests that cover the lower slopes.

The passes on Treffauer have served as connecting routes between valleys since early times, serving trade and travel for local communities. These pathways shaped the settlement patterns in the Tyrolean region.

Local mountaineering clubs maintain the network of trails and fixed ropes on Treffauer, continuing centuries-old Alpine traditions of path preservation.

The summit offers direct views of the Hintersteiner See lake, which reflects the mountain silhouette during clear weather conditions.
