Treffauer

The Treffauer peak reaches an elevation of 2304 meters and features steep rocky slopes surrounded by alpine meadows and dense forests.

The mountain paths of Treffauer have served as traditional routes for local communities traveling between valleys since the early settlement of the Tyrolean region.

Local mountaineering clubs maintain the network of trails and fixed ropes on Treffauer, continuing centuries-old Alpine traditions of path preservation.

The ascent from Wegscheid parking area covers 11 kilometers with 1440 meters elevation gain, requiring approximately 9 hours for a complete round trip.

The summit offers direct views of the Hintersteiner See lake, which reflects the mountain silhouette during clear weather conditions.
