The Treffauer is a 2,304 m peak in the Kaisergebirge range of Tyrol, the third highest in the massif. It rises south of the main ridge, separated from it, with the Tuxeck (2,226 m) in front to the south. The summit cross stands on the boundary between the municipalities of Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser and Kufstein.

The Treffauer lies in the Kaisergebirge in Tyrol, and its summit cross marks the municipal boundary between Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser and Kufstein. The standard route from Scheffau via Jägerwirt, Wegscheid-Hochalm and Schneekar was described in the 2006 Alpine Club guide by Höfler and Piepenstock. The neighbouring Tuxeck (2,226 m) is a separate summit to the south.

The summit cross of the Treffauer stands exactly on the municipal boundary between Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser and Kufstein; the mountain itself belongs to Scheffau. The standard route from Scheffau passes the Jägerwirt inn and the Wegscheid-Hochalm, and mountaineers often combine the summit with a crossing to the 2,226 m Tuxeck before descending to the Gruttenhütte.

Hikers should wear sturdy boots and layered clothing, as conditions change quickly at altitude. The route is demanding and requires experience with alpine trails and good physical preparation.
