Stripsenkopf, Mountain summit in Kaiser Mountains, Austria
Stripsenkopf is a mountain in the Kaiser range that rises to 1,807 meters (5,928 ft) above sea level. Its steep sides drop into the Kaiserbach valley and mountain pine grows across the summit area.
The mountain marks a natural boundary between the Zahmer Kaiser and Wilder Kaiser ranges, which are part of the Northern Limestone Alps. These ranges have shaped the region's geography for millions of years.
Mountaineers from Austria and neighboring countries gather at Stripsenkopf throughout different seasons to experience traditional Alpine climbing and hiking routes.
Several trails approach the summit from Griesner Alm via Stripsenjochhaus on the normal route. Expect steep terrain and allow approximately two and a half hours for the climb from the starting point.
From the summit, clear views extend toward the dramatic rock formations of Karlspitzen and Totenkirchl peaks. A broad ridge extends northeast toward Feldberg, offering varied descent options.
