Glamoč

The municipality of Glamoč spreads across the foothills of Staretina and Velika Golija mountains, with a stone fortress overlooking the central Glamočko Polje valley.

During Roman times, the settlement known as Salvium grew from an Illyrian base into a municipal center before falling under Byzantine rule in the fifth century.

The 2013 census reveals a mixed population distribution in Glamoč, with Serbs at 43.50%, Bosniaks at 32.41%, and Croats making up 23.47% of residents.

The town maintains basic services despite population decline, with the Catholic church of Saint Elias serving as a central religious structure since its construction in 1903.

The Glamoč Fortress, constructed in the 14th century, remained an active military installation until its final closure in 1882, marking nearly 500 years of continuous use.
