Provinciaal Suske en Wiske - Kindermuseum

Provinciaal Suske en Wiske Kindermuseum is a comic museum in Kalmthout dedicated to the works of Willy Vandersteen. The exhibition presents interactive displays that transform the visual style of comic strips into three-dimensional, experiential spaces.

The museum occupies the former residence and workspace of comic artist Willy Vandersteen. His reconstructed studio demonstrates where he created his stories starting from 1945.

Visitors enter through a tunnel into an adventure world featuring characters from Suske, Wiske, Piwo, De Rode Ridder, and De Geuzen. The spaces allow children to immerse themselves in the stories and become part of the narrative.

The museum offers school programs, guided tours, and workshops for children. It maintains regular opening hours on Wednesdays and Sundays, with special activities available in a dedicated play area.

The museum allows visitors to create new stories within comic-styled rooms, acting as characters from the series themselves. This active participation transforms the visit from observation into adventure.
