Kongur, Mountain summit in Belasitsa Mountains, Bulgaria
The Kongur summit reaches an elevation of 1951 meters and stands along the border between Bulgaria and Greece in the Belasitsa mountain range.
The summit contains remains of a former border patrol station that monitored movements between Bulgaria and Greece during the 20th century.
Local mountaineers gather at the Kongur cabin, previously a frontier post, which now serves as a meeting point for hiking expeditions.
The ascent to Kongur summit starts from the town of Petrich or the Belasitsa and Kongur cabins, with a two-hour hiking duration from Kongur cabin.
From the peak, hikers observe landscapes across two countries while standing at the intersection of Bulgarian and Greek territories.
