Radomir, Mountain summit in Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria.

Radomir is a mountain in Blagoevgrad Province on the Bulgaria-Greece border, reaching 2029 meters high. The southern side drops steeply with little vegetation, while the northern slopes are covered in thick forest cut through by several deep ravines.

The peak was named in 1942 and replaced the earlier name Kalabak to honor Bulgarian Emperor Gavril Radomir from the 11th century. This renaming reflects a connection between the mountain and medieval Bulgarian history.

The mountain forms part of the border between Bulgaria and Greece, connecting the natural heritage and hiking traditions of both nations.

Multiple hiking routes lead to the summit and provide views across three countries: Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Greece, including the Struma and Strumeshnitsa valleys. Visitors should prepare for different conditions as the two slopes offer completely different terrain.

From the summit, visitors can see Lake Kerkini, a large bird sanctuary in Greece with rich bird life. The distant ridges of the Pirin and Rila Mountains stand out on the horizon, creating a broad geographic view of the region.
