Kongura

Kongura is a nature reserve in the Belasica Mountains featuring old beech and sweet chestnut forests. The area contains diverse forest ecosystems with various plant communities across its terrain.

The area gained official protection status in 1988 after serving as a restricted military border zone for an extended period. This designation allowed the natural landscape to recover and maintain its diversity.

Multiple hiking trails provide access from nearby towns into the protected area. The terrain requires proper equipment and is best visited during warmer months.
