Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, Provincial park in Dufferin County, Canada.
Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is a protected area covering 732 hectares along the Niagara Escarpment, featuring limestone cliffs, dense forests, and diverse geological formations. The park extends over hilly terrain with different habitats shaped by millions of years of erosion.
The park was established in 1985 to protect the natural habitats and geological formations of the Niagara Escarpment. This creation was part of a larger effort to establish and manage the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve.
The park offers seven color-coded trails, including sections of the Bruce Trail, which show how important outdoor recreation is to visitors in this region. Locals and tourists regularly use these paths to explore the landscape and spend time in nature.
The main entrance is located at 3rd Line E.H.S., where parking and restroom facilities are available. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the paths cross hilly terrain and can become slippery in wet conditions.
A wooden platform extends out over the cliff edge, offering direct views of McCarston's Lake and the surrounding farmland. From this overlook, the breadth of the landscape appears especially striking and invites photographers to capture unusual perspectives.
