Ross House Museum, Historical house museum in Point Douglas, Winnipeg, Canada.
The Ross House Museum features rooms furnished with period items from the 1850s, demonstrating typical living conditions of early Manitoba settlers.
William Ross established Western Canada's first post office in this Red River frame structure in 1855, serving as the initial postmaster appointed by the Council of Assiniboia.
The museum preserves the heritage of Manitoba's early postal service and settler life through exhibits, artifacts, and educational programs about 19th-century Canadian households.
Located at 140 Meade Street North in Winnipeg, the museum operates seasonally during summer months and offers guided tours of the restored 1850s building.
The building survived two relocations, moving from Market Avenue to Higgins Avenue in 1947 and finally to Joe Zuken Heritage Park in 1984.
