Battlefield House

Battlefield House is a two-story residence built with local materials and featuring furnishings and architectural details from the late 1700s. The building once served as a private home and now operates as a museum with original rooms and surrounding grounds open to visitors.

The house was built in 1796 and played a central role during the Battle of Stoney Creek, a major military confrontation in the War of 1812. This battle made the location significant in early Canadian military history.

The house displays objects from everyday life in early settlements, including uniforms, weapons, and furniture that reflect how people lived about 200 years ago. These items help visitors understand the domestic and military aspects of the period.
