Grosser Diamantstock

Grosser Diamantstock is an alpine summit in the Bernese Alps situated between three glacier valleys. The peak offers various climbing routes across rocky and snowy terrain, with the Grueben Hut serving as a base shelter for mountaineers.

The mountain formed through geological processes that shaped the alpine landscape over millennia. The three adjacent glaciers have continuously influenced the terrain and defined the character of this mountain region.

Local mountaineering communities utilize the Grueben Hut, positioned 1,980 meters northeast of the summit, as a base for alpine expeditions.

Summer months from June through August offer the best conditions for climbing, as weather is most stable during this period. Climbers should allow time for acclimatization and monitor weather conditions carefully before ascending.
