Dratang Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Zhanang County that houses its main temple within an elliptical wall. The structures contain precious murals blending Indian Pala and Central Asian artistic traditions.
The monastery was founded in 1085 by monk Traba Ngonshe and came under the control of Sakya Pandita in the 13th century. It received national protection status in 1996.
The assembly hall displays central statues of Dorje Chang with Drapa Ngoshe positioned to the right, where pilgrims seek blessings during visits. This space holds deep spiritual significance for believers who continue to come here as part of their religious practice.
