Spring City 66, Mixed-use skyscraper complex in Kunming, China
Spring City 66 is a mixed-use complex of two connected towers in Kunming, with the taller structure reaching 349 meters and containing 61 floors above ground plus 4 underground levels. The site encompasses 430,000 square meters of space for retail, offices, and other uses.
Construction of Spring City 66 began in 2013 and reached completion in November 2019, marking a pivotal phase in Kunming's urban growth. The project's finish coincided with the city's efforts to position itself as a modern commercial and business hub in southern China.
The design draws from Yunnan's natural forms, with architectural details that reference the distinctive limestone peaks found in the nearby Shilin Stone Forest.
The complex connects to two major pedestrian boulevards and metro lines, making it easily accessible by public transport. Visitors can navigate the site comfortably through clearly defined walkways and entrances.
The towers feature Y-shaped fins on their exterior that manage sunlight while offering occupants sweeping views across Kunming's skyline. This aerodynamic design also creates a distinctive visual signature that makes the structure recognizable day and night.
