Maifeld, Event venue near Olympic Stadium, Berlin, Germany
The Maifeld spans 112,000 square meters of open lawn space with permanent stands capable of accommodating 44,000 spectators at its western end.
During the 1936 Olympics, the Maifeld served as the location for polo competitions and equestrian dressage events under the supervision of architect Werner March.
British military forces utilized the grounds to celebrate The Queen's Official Birthday and introduced cricket matches following World War II.
The venue includes the Bell Tower with an observation platform, electric lift, and searchlight system for illuminating evening gatherings and performances.
The Langemark-Halle, situated beneath the stands, contains halls with flags and shields commemorating the 1914 battle participants.
