Erfelden, Administrative district in Riedstadt, Germany.
Erfelden is a district of Riedstadt in Germany covering about 24.7 square kilometers at an elevation of 87 meters above sea level. The area contains many parcels of land and stretches across flat terrain in the Rhine valley.
The district merged with four neighboring communities in 1977 during an administrative reorganization to form the larger municipality of Riedstadt. This consolidation created a single administrative unit covering the entire southern Rhine area in the region.
The local museum in the former town hall displays regional objects and documents from the district's history. The collection shows how people lived and worked here across different time periods.
The area connects to Frankfurt through S-Bahn stations at Riedstadt-Goddelau and Riedstadt-Wolfskehlen for easy public transit access. Federal highways A67 and A5 provide additional road connections for visitors traveling by car.
A stone monument called Schwedensäule stands by the Old Rhine and marks a connection to King Gustav Adolf's military engineer during the Thirty Years War. This memorial recalls a significant episode in the region's past related to 17th century conflicts.
