Karlshorst

Karlshorst is a residential district in Lichtenberg featuring apartment buildings, green spaces, and a technical university. The neighborhood spreads across several kilometers and combines housing areas with parks and educational institutions.

The area developed as a residential quarter in the early 1900s and later gained historical importance through World War II events. In 1945, an officers' building here became the site of a major European historical moment.

The museum here presents exhibitions about German-Soviet relations during World War II in a historical building. Visitors can see original rooms where significant moments of that era took place.

The train station here connects the area to central Berlin through regular S-Bahn services. Public transportation offers easy access to other parts of the city.

The district contains Waldsiedlung, a garden city neighborhood from the 1920s with distinctive architectural features. This quarter displays a rare example of this building style from the Weimar era.
