Barbara-Kaserne, Military barracks in Delmenhorst, Germany
Barbara-Kaserne is a military complex in Delmenhorst with multiple buildings constructed for artillery units. The installation sits near the Delmenhorst-Große Höhe training ground and can be reached through the adjacent Delmetal-Kaserne facility.
The facility was founded in 1951 by British forces as Saint Barbara Barracks. After British forces withdrew in 1963, the Bundeswehr took control of the site.
The facility maintains records and photographs from various military units, including the Rocket Artillery Battalion 112 that operated between 1961 and 1993.
The site is not open to public access as it remains an active military installation. Visitors should check in advance which areas may be viewable or available for documentation.
The installation housed specialized facilities designed specifically for artillery operations. It served as home to the Rocket Artillery Battalion 112 from 1961 to 1993 and later the Observation Artillery Battalion 113 from 1993 to 1997.
