Borgfelder Wümmewiesen

The Borgfelder Wümmewiesen is a large protected area featuring wetlands and meadows along the Wümme River. The site is crisscrossed by walking paths with information boards that explain the local plants and animal life.

The area received legal protection in 1987 as part of regional conservation efforts to safeguard vital habitats. This designation reflected growing awareness of the importance of preserving wetland ecosystems.
