Wikingborg, Protected cultural heritage monument in Borgfeld, Bremen, Germany.
Wikingborg is a single-story villa in Borgfeld with white stone cladding and a distinctive tent-like roof featuring flowing curves. The structure extends through an elaborate passageway connecting the main house with a former stable section containing six boxes and a caretaker's apartment.
Architect Eberhard Gildemeister designed the villa in 1961 for ship owner Helmut Parchmann. The ambitious project faced financial setbacks that led to its later designation as a protected monument.
The entrance area displays a notable horse sculpture created by Herbert Kubica. The roof originally featured a decorative gilded Viking ship as an ornamental element.
The building is located at Katrepeler Landstraße 51 and today functions as condominiums. The complex remains largely visible from the street while respecting private property boundaries.
The villa was originally crowned with a gilded Viking ship atop its roof, an extravagant detail no longer visible today. This unusual ornamentation reflects the bold and creative design vision of that era's architecture.
