Philips-Deutschland-Zentrale, Office building in Fuhlsbüttel, Hamburg, Germany
The Philips-Deutschland-Zentrale is an office complex with two 60-meter-tall towers of 17 floors each, positioned parallel to each other with a slight offset. Together, these two structures form a connected building complex located near Hamburg Airport.
The building opened in 2005 and replaced the previous Philips headquarters that was located at Lübeckertordamm in St. Georg. This relocation represented a strategic shift in the company's operations within Hamburg.
The interior spaces feature design elements that reference the Alster and Elbe rivers, combined with nods to Hamburg's traditional brick architecture. These details give the building a connection to the city's character and shape the daily environment for those who work there.
The complex includes a parking garage with around 525 spaces for employees and visitors. The location is convenient to access and accommodates the daily operations of about 2000 workers across the site.
The building abandons traditional individual workstations in favor of flexible spaces designed to adapt to different work styles. This modern approach is supported by advanced lighting systems and climate control that create a comfortable work environment.
