Heilig Kreuz, Catholic parish church in Waren, Germany
The church structure features a distinctive roof design that mirrors an upturned ship, complemented by a small bell tower on its eastern side.
Construction of Heilig Kreuz began in 1928, with Polish craftsmen contributing significantly to the building process before its consecration in September 1929.
The church displays a large teak wood crucifix group created by artist Rudolf Brückner-Fuhlrott, who also designed the windows above the gallery.
The Franciscan brothers manage this parish church, which serves approximately 2,100 members of the Catholic community in the Mecklenburg region.
The church organ, built in 1967 by Jehmlich Orgelbau Dresden, contains 18 stops across two manuals and underwent restoration work in 1994.
