Juxkopf Tower, Wooden observation tower in Spiegelberg, Germany.
Juxkopf Tower is a wooden observation tower standing 22 meters tall on a peak at 505 meters elevation. From the top platform, visitors overlook the surrounding landscape, particularly the ridges and valleys of the Löwensteiner Mountains.
The first tower at this location was built in 1882, followed by replacements in 1902 and 1932. The current wooden structure dates from 1932 and represents more than 90 years of continuous maintenance at this site.
The tower is managed by the Schwäbischer Albverein, a hiking and conservation group that has long maintained viewpoints across this region. Visitors experience a local tradition of pairing hiking walks with stops at designated observation points.
The tower is typically open on weekends during warmer months, allowing visitors to climb the internal stairs to the top. Coffee and refreshments are available at the platform, making it a good stopping point during a hiking walk.
The tower stands on the second highest peak of the Löwensteiner Mountains within a protected nature park. This elevated location makes it a preferred stop for hikers exploring the region's prominent ridges.
