Pauluskirche, Gothic Revival church in Heidenheim an der Brenz, Germany.
The Pauluskirche is a Gothic Revival church built of red brick with a cross-shaped floor plan in Heidenheim an der Brenz. The 75-meter tower rises above the square next to the town hall and is surrounded by a well-kept garden with mature trees.
The building was constructed between 1895 and 1898 according to designs by royal court architect Felix von Berner. The portal reliefs were created by sculptor Hermann Lang.
The church serves as a central place for the local Protestant community and shapes the town's spiritual life through regular services and musical performances. It holds an important role in the daily rhythm of the town.
The church is accessible during daylight hours and the tall tower serves as a practical landmark in the town center. Its immediate proximity to the town hall and garden makes it easy to find.
The building does not follow the typical east-west orientation but instead aligns north-south to fit the course of the Brenz river and the town grid. This unusual positioning was a deliberate choice in the city planning.
