FILharmonie, architectural structure
FILharmonie is a multi-purpose hall in Filderstadt that has hosted a variety of events since 1994. The building features flexible spaces ranging from small meeting rooms to large halls, accommodating concerts, theater performances, conferences, and festivals with capacity for up to 2000 people.
Planning for the hall began in the early 1980s, and the building opened in 1994. In 2004, marking the tenth anniversary, artist Rosalie donated the sculpture 'In the Rainbow', which has become a symbol of the venue.
The name FILharmonie blends Filderstadt with the concept of music and harmony. The building serves the community as a meeting place where people from different backgrounds gather to attend concerts, theater performances, and cultural events.
The venue is situated near Stuttgart, the airport, and the highway, making arrival by car or public transport straightforward. Visitors can find ample parking and purchase tickets online, with options to reserve food and drinks during events.
Seven colorful shapes called Kussmünder painted in rainbow colors adorn the front entrance, created by artist Rosalie. This distinctive decoration makes the entrance welcoming and cheerful, becoming a signature feature of the building.
