The Jakobsberg Telecommunication Tower is a concrete structure rising 142 meters from the summit of the hill. It broadcasts television and radio signals across the region and includes a viewing platform for visitors.

A broadcasting tower first appeared in 1952 at the site of a former monument. The current structure was built between 1974 and 1978 to replace it with a more modern facility.

The hill name refers to Saint James and its historical role as a pilgrimage route in the region. Visitors notice the view across the Weser valley, showing why this location has long drawn people.

The viewing area is accessible on weekends when weather conditions are suitable for climbing. Wear comfortable shoes and check the opening times before planning your visit to the platform.

The site originally held a Bismarck monument before being replaced by the modern broadcast tower. This shift from historic landmark to functional infrastructure reveals the changing purpose of the location.
