Heuchelberger Warte, Stone observation tower in Großgartach, Germany.
Heuchelberger Warte is a stone observation tower rising about 20 meters above Leingarten and offering views across the region's rolling hills. From the top, visitors look out over the Heilbronner Land toward distant mountain ranges including the Heuchelberg, Stromberg, and Weinsberg.
The tower was built in 1483 by Count Eberhard im Bart as part of a defense line that controlled traffic through the Neckar Valley. It served as a strategic control point along a network of fortifications spanning the region.
The structure received recognition as a cultural heritage monument in Baden-Württemberg and earned the Denkmal des Monats designation in June 2004.
The tower is freely accessible year-round and visitors can reach it via marked hiking trails. Several routes connect the site to nearby villages and other viewpoints in the surrounding area.
On clear days, visitors can see over 80 kilometers from the tower, spotting landmarks like Stuttgart Television Tower and distant parts of the Odenwald region. This far-reaching view gives a sense of how the landscape extends across multiple regions.
