Wallwitzburg, Medieval castle ruin in Georgengarten, Dessau-Roßlau, Germany
The Wallwitzburg stands on Wallwitzberg at 75 meters above sea level, featuring brick walls and an observation tower within the Landscape Park Georgium.
Prince Johann Georg of Anhalt-Dessau commissioned the construction of this miniature castle between 1796 and 1800 as part of the Dessau-Wörlitzer Garden Realm.
The structure received UNESCO World Heritage status as a component of the Dessau-Wörlitzer Garden Realm, representing late 18th-century architectural design.
The Wallwitzburg Association organizes regular events and conducts restoration work to maintain the structure, with current focus on rebuilding the neo-Gothic stair tower.
During winter solstice celebrations, 300 tea lights, lanterns, and fire baskets illuminate the path from Schloss Georgium to the castle.
