Maritim Hotel Lübeck-Travemünde is a white tower block on the Baltic coast that rises 119 meters and serves both as lodging and a navigation aid. The 35-story building shapes the skyline of Travemünde and offers rooms overlooking the beach, harbor, and open sea.
The tower was built in 1974 as part of a plan to expand the tourism infrastructure along Lübeck Bay. At the same time, the building assumed the lighthouse function and replaced older navigation installations in the port.
Visitors notice the working light signal at the top, which continues to guide vessels through the Baltic waters day and night. This dual purpose means guests experience the rhythm of maritime navigation firsthand during their stay.
The location near the ferry terminal makes arrival easy for travelers from Scandinavia and allows short walks to the beach promenade. The building is visible from a distance and serves as a reference point throughout the Travemünde coastal area.
