Thomaskirche, Gothic Revival church in Erfurt, Germany
The Thomaskirche features a soaring 72-meter steeple and a single nave structure with pointed arches and limestone accents throughout its exterior design.
Built between 1900 and 1902, the church replaced an older structure from 1282 that served the Löbervorstadt district until its demolition in 1903.
The church houses a three-winged altar retable from 1445 depicting biblical scenes, including the Coronation of Mary and Thomas meeting the resurrected Christ.
The church organizes regular services, children's activities, choir rehearsals, and community events, with space to accommodate 1,100 attendees during gatherings.
After substantial damage in 1945, the church underwent reconstruction and received new colored glass windows, leading to its reconsecration in September 1950.
