Thomaskirche

Thomaskirche in Wuppertal is a Lutheran church with an imposing west facade featuring six large arched windows set between flat pilasters and crowned by a central gable structure. The interior underwent comprehensive restoration after a fire, revealing modern extensive colored glass windows in the eastern choir that reshape the space with colored light.

Built in 1910 as a community center, this church survived World War II intact. A fire in 1998 prompted substantial interior restoration that introduced new colored glass windows to the worship space.

This church serves as the spiritual center of the Evangelical parish of Uellendahl-Ostersbaum, where residents gather regularly for worship and community events. The building anchors the neighborhood's social life, hosting various groups and parish activities throughout the week.
